CITIZENSHIP GROUPS and Pupil Voice
We have the following citizenship groups for P4-7 who meet once a fortnight:

Rights Respecting
Eco
The Eco groups worked to organise litter picks during Keep Scotland Beautiful Spring Clean Initiative. P1-3 Eco Group organised for their classes and the nursery to litter pick in the playground. They each had an area to work on and collect as much litter as possible. P4-7 Eco Group organised a community litter alongside Stanley Development Trust and their volunteers. They too worked hard to clear hot spots that have lots of litter in the village. Both groups came together the next day to weigh and audit the litter. We discussed how it made us feel linking in our Emotion Works learning and discussed what we could do to make it better.

In each group pupils have voted for their office bearers and those pupils lead their groups to achieve their aims.
PUPIL COUNCIL
The pupil council meet with Mrs Higgins to discuss whole school ideas and actions. Pupils who wished to be considered for the position for pupil councillors had to complete an application form and were selected by Mrs Higgins.
