P2 Miss Tosh 25-26
It is lovely to be back to school and seeing all the children raring to go for P2!
During our first few weeks back at school, we have spent time reminding ourselves about what our school core values (WISAR) mean and how we can demonstrate them in the classroom, dinner hall and playground.
P2 spent time on the moving up morning deciding which of the articles on the UNCRC were the most important for us in the classroom. From there, we wrote statements to support what duty bearers (adults) and right holders (children) could do to meet these rights. We decided on a Super Bear theme to display our charter. Each child is represented by their own unique Super Bear.
We have also been reminding ourselves about the importance of demonstrating a Growth Mindset in our approach to learning new things. We spoke about what neurons were and designed our own neuron to display. We spoke about 'the power of YET' - we might not be able to do things 'yet' but know we can keep practising, ask for help or try different ways to be successful at something.
We have spent a lot of time discussing different emotions and situations where we might feel these ways. We read The Colour Monster book and each identified one of the emotions and what makes us feel that way. As part of our Emotion Works learning we will continue to explore emotion words, behaviours, triggers, body sensations and regulation strategies across the year.
